I had all four of mine out at one time. Two were not grown out yet. For me it went pretty good. I was awake with novaine, and afterwards only took motrin. No pain killers.
My daughter was suppose to get all 4 out. none have come through. She went last month and had 2 removed. She was awake. She cried and said she will not get the other two removed. Trying to find another dentist for her.

Had 3 out.
half an injection in the jaw, other half in the hand .
La-La Land. Vaguely remember being taken home by taxi (by the pre-arranged friend who was waiting).

Painkillers, and lotsa soft food stored up at home, for when I occasionally woke up while sleeping off the injection.

Hi Shygirl - I had all my teeth taken out last year. I never felt a thing even afterward. My gums wer just swollen for a few days is all. I will tell you this - I had no idea how much teeth affected the health of the human body. Since I had my teeth pulled - I have felt a whole lot better. Hope this helpshug

If you smoke, DON'T.

And don't think that going out and getting drunk and taking a swig of beer and then spitting out the blood is going to work, because it ends up you take a swig of blood and spit out the beer. And then you feel like total HELL the next morning.

And smoking causes a dry socket. This much I know from experience. And it hurts like a mother.

If you need the pain pills, take them. If you must rinse, then do so VERY gently. Do not swish anything around in your mouth; you don't want to lose the blood clots.

And do not drink anything through a straw.

I had to have mine surgically cut out. But the upside...I had no pain nor swelling in the following days.
