Fifty million stars in our galaxy have the potential of supporting life forms capable of travelling to other planets, says world-renowned authority Erich von Damien, whose film version of his best selling book, Chariots of the Gods, gives stunning visual proof that some form of life from outer space landed on Earth centuries ago.

It took five years for Von Damien to document, on film, the physical evidence of visits by galactic travellers who came to earth. Just what they did here and the influences they left behind are the core of the film.

In search of basic truths, the film, Chariots of the Gods, takes the viewer into the far reaches of underground caves and tombs, and to the tops of desolate mountains on every major continent to show the evidence von Damien has been collecting. Although his controversial film may provide the answers to age old mysteries, it may be the beginning of and entirely new set of questions.

Mate, I fell for this when I was a lot younger. All of his evidence has been discounted. His hypothesis did not offer any alternative explanations for his evidence, even though much existed. I'd be careful, the Archaeological community put paid to his theories in the seventies.

Fair call. thumbs up

There is more evidence as our technology is improving now, backing many of those claims.beer

just looking at different religions around the world, beliefs…etc and wondering if looking outwards for some sort of source to our existence is part of our genealogy? dunno

EliteOne: In search of basic truths, the film, Chariots of the Gods,

Stop. Either you're being facetious, you're trying to troll for a response, or you're sadly willing to believe anything.

Skeptic's Dictionary, "ancient astronauts":

Erich von Crackpot is more like it, known tax evader that he is (see also: Kent Hovind, "intelligent design" advocate and currently incarcertated tax evader). von Daniken is a loon who made up nonsense and misinterpreted evidence to sell a hokey scam and make money.

von Daniken's "ideas" are no better than Ray Wallace's, the only difference being von Daniken (probably) didn't threaten violence against his own family as Wallace did (if they ever dared expose his fraud while he was alive). It wouldn't surprise me if the same exposure of von Daniken's fraud happens after he dies.

The Incas and Egyptian pyramids were as involved with "aliens" about as much as the "face on Mars" was, i.e. not at all. And his "claims" have been debunked by objective investigation (e.g. the Iron Pillar in India does rust, the crystal skull was made after 1950, etc). Every claim of his that has been scientifically challenged has fallen.

PBS's NOVA episode from 1978, "The Case of the Ancient Astronauts", tore von Daniken's nonsense to shreds. I still remember that episode for waking me out of believing such twaddle. Speaking of NOVA, you might want to watch their upcoming episde on "Breaking the Mayan Code", its language. No doubt the same could be done someday for the Incan language to find out what really went on. (Hint: Aliens won't be a part of it.)

Sadly, it's easier to propagate and believe nonsense than it is to do real archeological work, which require time and money.

Crackpot or not, one could say the same thing about Arthur C Clark There is allot of stuff that is quite unexplainable like Easter Island god statues carved from stone that iron chisels have trouble scratching. Don’t forget it was only a short time between cavemen and pyramids. Explain out of place artefacts? Its pretty hard to do. dunno

Its all interesting stuff.
I believe in the inginuity of man.
The inventiveness of man can be rediscovered over and over again.
A light bulb for example, all you need is copper and wine in a pot. Rotate the copper windings and you have electrity. Glass made from heated sand and a filement of metal or carbon soaked string. Did they dicover a way to vacuumise the glass. dunno
Im a design engineer and some of the things I design are new to me but have already been invented.

Constant evolution ..
Pyramids .. commonly held to be + - 5000 years old (or 10,000 depending upon which theory you go with) - Cavemen: well, lets take neanderthals - Neanderthal characteristics disappeared from Europe around 50,000 years ago, and from Asia around 30,000 years ago - thats a 'short time' of 20,000 years ... during which we had two ice ages, and developed farming. A lot could have happened in those 20-25,000 years!

Time has a way of misplacing history. Over time many artefacts have been found that simply don’t fit into the chain of historical events, whether they are result of medieval age still remains to be uncovered. On the other hand were there other civilizations prior to ours.

... and the greatest misplaced artefact of all is the Moon ...

Who built the moon and why?
