Seems to be that after chatting for a while you think you know them, then you meet them and they seem totally different from how they described themselves while chatting.
Has anyone else found this?

Not always but a few times this has happened. I guess because you dont get the nuances of personality and emotion when chatting ..just straight words and the odd Emoticon

I have also chatted to someone for months.. who had one photo..and thought they were wonderful.. but met them .. found they looked completely and totally different and although there was a mental connection from the chatting the physical spark was definitely not there. In fact I think I gasped aloud when I finally saw the person.. not that they were UGLY .. just that the photo was so different! wink I am no shallow Hal..there has to be three parts to a connection for me.. Physical, emotional, and spiritual! in balance or its a no go for me.

Hope this rambling rubbish helps! Cheers TARA professor

I totally agree. This is why I prefer to meet people early (I love when we do the group meets). I started a thread a while ago on the same subject. I can't get a persons personality or character by typing to them and I believe a persons looks change as you get to know them were as that really can't happen when you get to know people this way. Even when you message someone to get to know them often doesn't come across the way you'd like it to.

We all live with the hope that someone is interested in us, but for what reasons? Also i think sometimes we can hide behind a profile we have created, hence the ability for some people to distort the truth, or turn back the clock a few years. No harm I suppose, but also no joy for anyone in the end. I would like to meet someone, but not just anyone for the sake of it, as there is that "connection" we seek and feel. Sadly my plug must be broken, I feel a little "disconected", oh well maybe one day, won't die wondering though.dancing cheering head banger
