Clone: Rant???No i agree with you. I think its best to be your own hardest critic. I destroy a lot of half finished stuff cause it does not reach my own personal standards...but the danger of that is seeing a piece of work a year or two later and realising that it was way better than what you originally thought. Has happend to me a lot.
I kind of grasped oils straight away but i never really learnt a technique with them as such...they dont teach you how to paint in art college. I just found or progressed with a way to paint to suit myself and explore the area of painting that im interested in.
As for exhibiting? If your self employed at it then i reckon you are exhibition worthy...start with small group shows an try an work the way up.
but even exhibiting is not a gauge of how good technically some one is....ive had too much beer i think.
