It's a movie (2007) and I must admit I only recently saw it. Wow what a strange and wonderful movie. For me it was NOT predictable at all.

Here is the description from Netflix: A hunter (Josh Brolin) who stumbles upon a dead body, $2 million and a stash of heroin in a Texas desert absconds with the cash. But brutal thief Anton Chigurh (Javier Bardem) comes looking for it, with a local sheriff (Tommy Lee Jones) hot on his trail. The roles of prey and predator blur as violent pursuits of money and justice collide in this Oscar-winning morality tale from directors Joel and Ethan Coen, which nabbed the Best Picture prize.

Did you see it? Did you like it?

Have you seen any other thrillers lately that you could recommend?

I tell ya, on this one, I could watch it again!

I loved this film. Javier Bardem is totally mesmerising as Anton Chigurh. What a brilliant actor! I haven't seen another thriller like this one for a long time. But I do recommend Woody Allen's Vicky Cristina Barcelona. Javier Bardem stars in this too, in a totally different character to the one he plays in 'Old Men'. You just won't believe it's the same man! Sign of a good character actor. Wow! He's gorgeous! smitten

I agree, Javier Bardem is a great actor. However, Vicky Cristina Barcelona is, in my opinion, a second-rate film. I was very disappointed in this work of Woody Allen, as were all of my friends.

Yeah, you're right. Not one of Allen's greatest movies. Apart from 'Old men', is there any other movie starring Javier Bardem?

If you like the film, the book is just amazing and makes you appreciate the adaptation even more. The guy who wrote it, Cormac McCarthy, is a brilliant writer. One of his other books, equally dark and called The Road, just came out as a film and it is pretty solid. The guy doesn't pull any punches, neither do the Coen Brothers, so the combination was outstanding. Along the same lines for thrillers, The Hurt Locker will keep you on edge, and it is a hell of a story.

You must try to see "Love In The Time Of Cholera". (2007)

I read the book during my Spanish studies and thought the film would be a let down, but it´s one of my favourites, and Javier is great in his role.

I'll definitely keep my ears, nose, throat and eyes open for that one Jan. Can't get enough of Bardem! Thanks for that. handshake
