My daughter learned, at the age of four her fifteenth "hello"
She can now say "hello, goodbye, thank you and you're welcome" in English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Polish, Czech, Russian, Hebrew, Russian, Japanese, Turkish, Norwegian, Mandarin and Cantonese.
She is bi-lingual English and Russian and can count to 10 in English, Russian, French and German and when she starts school I pity her teachers!

My son is also bi lingual in English and Russian has good grasp of bulgarian and spanish (better than me anyway) His biggest moment of glory today was cooking flawless pancakes he was proud of.
Iuchi_Zien: As the saying goes if you can't dazzle 'em with diamonds baffle 'em with (well your choice) But the question is, is that 'cos you're a crumbly who doesn't understand 'youth speech' or is she truely gifted?
PS one of those two Russians should be Bulgarian.

She will learn that there are TWO sides (or more) to EVERY argument and that if she makes a choice be prepared to defend it. If that means she learns tolerance then she will.
Iuchi_Zien: Sorry northern English speak for older people. (crumbly bones...)
Ok, got it!, in fact my daughter has a degree in Spanish, my grandaughter is fluent in both Castilliano and Valenciano, and my grandson is good at both as well, far more than I learnt in my youth!. So yes we have a right to be proud of them.

Good stuff - but tolerance for me is something diffirent from winning debates. (Live and let live).

Absolutely! although I think I COULD live without my Russian pronunciation being corrected by a four year old

Tolerance is nothing to do with winning debates, by learning there are more than one side to an argument she will learn, hopefully not to be judgemental, to respect other opinions without resorting to accusations and name calling and by defending her choice she will learn not to let intellectual bullies who do make accusations and use name calling push her from a decision she has made. And if that's all she ever learns I will be proud of her.
GospolBlues: M 2 kids are playing outside in the new snow we are getting and they are having a great time.
Yes don't you wish you had the ability to stay outside till hyperthermia sets in, your finger become blue and completely numb and you've completely lost all feeling in your extremities? Makes you jealous doesn't it!

NOPE!! They are welcome to it! I LOVE the snow... For the inside looking out. LOTS of pics of kids through the front room window.
Still snowing here in NorthEastOhio... Get out the camera!

My two are chalk and cheese, my daughter would stay out in the snow till she dropped from hyperthermia, my son wants inside if a snowflake lands on his head. Me I love the snow and the cold but my body is mounting a rebellion against it.
LadyPhoenix1965: OMYGOSH!!! You're an English Teacher! My terrible spelling must be doing a jig on your nerves.
You can tell when I start to get steamed up, check the quality of my spelling, it really starts to deteriorate. No, I teach English as a second language (ESOL) to refugees and privately to EU citizens working in the UK so I've seen levels of spelling that would make your hair curl!
