Hiya, there are loads of different reasons why people dont put up a pic, shyness, not wanting to be seen on dating site, but im sure those who dont have it here will have it to email to u!

I would say the main reason people don't put up a picture is they are afraid someone they know will see it. You dont have to be a member of CS to browse the profiles or read the forums. Weather we like it or not there is still a huge stigma attached to internet dating with many people thinking you have to be "Sad" and "Desperate" to try this. I would say a lot of people without pics just don't want people they know finding out they are on here.

I felt a bit like that at first.... and then I thought to myself that there was nothing to be ashamed of at all! My job is very much in the public eye and I have had emails a good few times from people who recognise me and ask is it me. First one freaked me out, then I thought to myself, well they are on here too, so what the hell....

Yes I agree. But I think some people are worried about the people who can't send them mails. The people who may not be members but just happen to come across the site or forums. You don't have to log in to look at women or men in your area or look at the forums.

That is true... but in fairness, if they are trolling dating sites without joining then I feel the same!! That probably is sad! Much better to be brave and join....

The phenomenon I mentioned above happened to me on a regular basis when I responded to picless profiles, asking for the goods to be shown!
That they didn't want someone they knew to see them or that they don't get why people are so shallow.
Such hypocrisy!
Fact of the matter is, if someone you know sees you they are browsing dating sites, for whatever reason, they are still browsing.
To add to that, if you are genuine about meeting somebody why prolong what's inevitably going to happen if you meet face to face, present a profile, with a picture.
As well as that it's already known that profiles with pictures get more response.
I mean, if you're here to doss around only then grand, I understand that but otherwise I really have a hard time understanding it.
I put a pic up now and again of myself and had one up for months when i joined but i did get a little embarrassed when i seen an ex-girlfriend on this (shes crazy) so i took it down!!

Totally agree. Also my open mindedness to profiles with lack of pics has decreased over time, as I tend to think along the lines now of what makes them think they are more in need of secrecy than the rest of us who do put up a pic...

I mean it offers little security I suppose, the person could still be a wacko but I do tend to find that profiles with a few pics seem to be more genuine. Although it has been proven in the past not to be so.
