ciaran64: hes not on her fb page also didnt want him mentioning on fb she put a comment and he told her to take it down

I wouldn't put much pass on that Ciaran. I have several very close muslim friends and it is just in their culture to be very private about things like fb and the internet. Used to make me suspicious of them, but in fact I had no need.

Did you make an arrangement with her before she left to keep in touch with you in particular? Coz if not, it would be expensive for her and she prob is keeping calls to a minimum.

Ladybee42: well it's north africa, not quite the same as say a southern europian country. if you go to her fb account you can look who her friend in tunisia is - it can take a while to go through depending on how many friends she has. then when you find him you can go to his page and see who his friends are - it might make you feel better about it if he looks alright....

Being in Tunisia is like being in the south of france only the food is different. Seems like a safe place to me anyway, as safe as any other country.

Hiya Rob.

Big diff Rob IMO.

It is an authatarian regime and police state with serious limitations on freedom of press.
The regime obstructs in any way possible the work of local human rights organizations and Amnesty International has condemned the regime for not protecting human rghts.

90% of Tunisians are Muslim.

Tad different to the South of France IMO.

Yeah Im good Rob ta.....beer

I havent been, but my ex would not go after I suggested it. She did some research, and came to the conclusion that the resorts were fine, but outside of that she would not be comfortable, due to the human rights issues and the womens rights issues....laugh (altho I believe its more tolerant on womens rights than other Muslim countries)

I still wanna go tho.....laugh

Can we get back to the original post and leave the travel log aside for awhile lads, this man is worried about his friend who has gone off to a foreign country (does it really matter which one -scam artists, killers, scumbags reside throughout the worlddoh, to meet a total stranger, leaving behind her three children, there is no way to contact her and Ciaran describes her as being pretty emotional!! pretty serious in my estimation.

Have you any luck so far Ciaran?

Like some people have already suggested, he should contact whoever is minding her children, to see if she has been in touch with them, rather than asking anyone here if he should be worried. Obviously, if she hasn't been in touch with whoever is minding her children, it's a bigger problem than her just not contacting Ciaran while she's away on holidays.
