Alright I have a question to ask to, I have this guy friend that thinks that he isn't ready for a relationship BUT we spent almost every night together hanging out talking, watching t.v. and there was even a little "you know". We hung out with each other's families and we spent the night at each other's houses and there wasn't much that we didn't do together. It was like the perfect relationship but then he freaks out and says that he wasn't ready for a relationship. We never talked about making a commitment or anything like that -- so what would be a reason that he would pull back, he still tells me that I am one of his closest friends and you know he isn't opposed to the whole "you know" continuing, but that makes me feel used.

So question is why do guys pull away, when everything is going fine and there isn't anything more being asked?

In my opinion, even though the words were not spoken about commitment or having a relationship...it was starting to look like a relationship to him!

He is obviously not ready to get that close to anyone, and I can only assume that he is afraid, simply because he is not ready!

Thank you for your opinion, I guess I knew that he wasn't ready but he continues to say that he enjoys our friendship and he doesn't want it to end. It's just so confusing.

Hmmm, my opinion...pull back, take away from him what he has been enjoying so much, give him that little extra space he may be needing, and he may realize...that, yes, he wants that committed relationshipt after all, Godd luck!!cheering

I have pulled back lately and he doesn't seem to mind, I think I am just a little desperate for attention. Thanks for the advice
