Top Ten GODZILLA (Gojira) from Toho Studios:

1. Godzilla 1991-1994 (100 metres tall! Dark Gray, cool blue Atomic ray! Double rows of teeth, triple rows of dorsal fins; massive monolithic legs to move all that mass! A thighmaster's nightmare.
Nuclear Death on legs!!!) from 1991's "Godzilla Vs King Ghidorah"; 1992's "Godzilla Vs Mothra"; 1993's "Godzilla Vs MechaGodzilla"; & 1994's "Godzilla Vs Space Godzilla"
cool

2. 'Burning' Godzilla 1995 (100m, dark grey-black & glowing orange...nuclear meltdown imminent ! 100 metres of China Syndrome. When it overheats, the pacific basin will be wiped out, with nuclear winter affecting the entire globe!)from 1995's "Godzilla Vs Destroyah"
very mad

3. Godzilla (original 1954 appearance; ash grey like Hiroshima victim silloutes; great design, a classic! 50 metres tall) 1954's "Gojira" <"Godzilla">.

4. Godzilla 2003 (best asthetic design of the millenium series, sleek, and dark grey, 55 metres tall.) 2003's "Godzilla x Mechagodzilla". [What a film!!!]

5. Godzilla 2004 (same as 2003, but with a scarred chest)2004's "Godzilla, Mechagodzilla, Mothra: Tokyo SOS"

6. Godzilla 2002 (but for the whited out eyes, a very nasty Godzilla, with an atomic ray that causes a mushroom cloud & atomic explosion! So dark grey it's almost black...massive feet and a hefty 60m tall!)
"Godzilla, Mothra, King Ghidorah: All Out Monster Attack"[Not bad film, but the Enlglish dub & subtitles rewrite the dialog, to the film's detriment!]
help

7. Godzilla 1955 (more evil, reptillian, good grey 'hide')from 1955's "Godzilla raids again"

8.Godzilla 1960's (Varied, but most appearances pretty good; 50m tall with good grey colored hide)

9. Godzilla 2005: 'Final Wars' Godzilla. A bit too thin & too 'humanly' shaped, but pretty traditional otherwise. Dark Grey. Not as much fun as it's so powerful no other monsters can really battle it! From 2005's "Godzilla: Final Wars"; a film that doesn't take itself seriously enough at times.

10. Godzilla 1970-1975, too,too cute to take very seriously, too 'heroic' rather than a grim spectre of the nuclear arms race...but, gotta love this 50m big puppy eyed nuclear force-of-nature,LOL...nice grey color..

G - Rant:
No Toho studio Godzilla is green (they're grey) or breathe fire (it's radioactive/nuclear blasts). Godzilla can never appear before WWII, as it represents Nuclear Arms; Nuclear Testing and and the horror of nuclear war such as Hiroshima/Nagasaki. Accept no edits which try to skirt around this. "The Big G" isn't about dinosaurs/reptiles, it's about the horror of Nuclear Weapons. A sort of force-of-nature, a physical spectre of Nuclear Death...slowly unstoppably approaching a city...see 1954's "Godzilla" (without Raymond Burr edited in to fill in the gaps made from the 'safe for America' edit...the original "Godzilla": it's a powerful, moving film!)

(EXCLUDED: 1998's Hollywood/TristarDean Devlin/Roland Emmerich's "Trizilla"/"DeanZilla"/"GINO":'Godzilla In Name Only' from that horrific turkey of a 'Film' from 1998; it gets no room on this list).

28 official 'Godzilla' Toho Studios films,

--------Showa series (1954–1975)------------

1."Godzilla" (Gojira) 1954
(US 1955 edits -40 mins 'Nuclear'theme; adds +20 mins with Ramond Burr; retitled to "Godzilla King of the Monsters")

4."Godzilla Vs Mothra" (1964)

15."Terror of Mechagodzilla" (1975)

----VS series (1984–1995)--------

16."The Return of Godzilla"(1984); this movie was created as a direct sequel to the 1954 film, and ignores the continuity of the previous 'Showa' series
17."Godzilla Vs Biolante" (1989)
18."Godzilla Vs King Ghidorah" (1991)
19."Godzilla Vs Mothra" (1992)
20."Godzilla Vs MechaGodzilla" (1993)
21."Godzilla Vs Space Godzilla" (1994)
22."Godzilla Vs Destroyah" (1995)

----Millennium series (1999–2004)--------

23."Godzilla 2000 Millenium" (& US edit -9 minutes!: "Godzilla 2000")
24."Godzilla X Megaguiras" (2001)
25."Godzilla, Mothra, King Ghirdorah: All-Out Monsters Attack" (2002)
26."Godzilla x Mechagodzilla" (2003)
27."Godzilla, Mothra Mechagodzilla: Tokyo SOS" (2004)
28."Godzilla Final Wars" (2005)

Other Toho films without Godzilla?: several. (Rodan, Mothra, Varan, all started in Toho Studio films, but would later be in Godzilla films).
Many other Toho Studios films from the 1950s & 1960 featured giant-monsters ('DaiKaiju') that eventually turn up in Godzilla films from the 1960s-2000s.

1996, 1997 & 1999 Mothra had 3 films of her own fighting various monsters including King Ghidorah.

The 1998 Hollywood film was widely panned by cult followers of the Godzilla franchise, critics on both sides of the Pacific, and movie-goers in general, as well as from Toho itself, who were reportedly enraged that Emmerich ignored all their requests they made in regards to how Godzilla should have been portrayed. Toho's official name for this monster is "Zilla", a reference to knock-off Godzilla products sold in the American market, and the fact that Develin and Emmerich apparently took the "God" out of "Godzilla". Zilla would go on to fight the real Godzilla in Godzilla: Final Wars and lose.

Before being given the name of Zilla, this creature was (and still is) often referred to by disapproving fans as GINO, an acronym for "Godzilla In Name Only." This acronym was coined by Godzilla fan Richard Pusateri. Other nicknames used to distinguish it from Godzilla include "American Godzilla", "Godzilla USA", "Hollywood Godzilla", "Fraudzilla", "TriStar Godzilla", "Godzilla 1998", "Ginozilla", "US Godzilla" and "Deanzilla" (after the film's producer, Dean Devlin).
