evesdrop on coversations until you pick up a few names. Then, drift around and come up to that person, "Hi <insert name>! God, it's been ages. How've you been?" Watch and enjoy the look of confusion as they try in vain to remember you.
it's great fun.
dress well , dont drink much till after the speeches , keep moving , grab onto a crowd and introduce yourself dont wait for them, if ya know groom r bride bestman groomsman get them to introduce you to your table. and enjoy the day .. its a long day the sober ones at 11 o clock have the most fun !!!

You'll be fine Sue. I've gone to a few weddings on my own and had a great time. I found people are inclined to include you in conversation and dancing so you get to know a few people.
