The word serenity seems to me to be a shining word, like sunlight glimmering on quiet water.
Many people connect the word serenity with water.
Both water and serenity refresh and give life.
I try to remember that when the hustle and bustle of life rushes in, within myself is a deep, quiet well of serenity.

I do believe that love does change, but usually it grows stronger. When you love someone the love grows as you grow as a person and as a couple or as a parent and child. Love is one of the most beautiful feelings in life and it can never hurt you to love someone, even if they don't love you back, it one of the many gifts we can give and not have to receive.
I love your interpretation of serenity. I've always loved the water for that very reason. It's alsways comforted me and calmed me even in the worst of times.
