Earthquake North of Ottawa Today (64)

I did, at about 2pm today EST. Didnt realise what it was at first, but it scared the Bejeezus outa me! The house was shaking, and all was a-rockin'a little!
I believe it measured 5.5 on the scale, and was centered somewhere around 30 miles North of Ottawa. Definately affected us here in Northern NY State.

I just read the news reports...thats where I come from and my loved ones are as well. By all reports there are no injuries, Just damages to buildings. Angels watch over.

It is rare here but it does happen from time to time....a fault runs near the St. Law. River I believe....I only remember one other time and it only took down a few chimneys..

I live in Upper NY State, not NYC. We live about 4 1/2 hours drive away from the metropolis. Thank God!

In all seriousness, Ive never experienced anything like that before, so I was kind of freaked out for a few moments. I thought it was a local blasting company going at it, or something.
I can imagine how scary a big one is. This was bad enough, and was relatively minor.
My thoughts to anyone who was injured or who had property damaged.
