I have 2 cats and 2 (large) dogs. You would think the dogs would rule the cats, right?

Not so!

The younger cat will try to play with the dogs, the older cat however do not play. The older cat likes to make the dogs screech and bleed lol.

Its funny to watch a 110 lb dog slowly back away from the cat when he decides to steal the dogs food.

Dogs tend to allow cats to rule the home in many cases due to their good nature.

That and having those tender noses that cats can claw.

If they are raised together dogs and cats can be very good friends. Otherwise an understanding is the best you can hope for.

Lol!

Some cats are just little tigers!

But if he bugs the dog too much, he'll get it one day.

It was a case of two pups brought to the house with a adult male cat who was the alpha. We all know what happened initially.

Eventually the cats did tolerate and somewhat accept the dogs but there is still an occasional "screech and bleed" if the dog puts his nose too close.
