Partiro: The ZX Spectrum was colour I meant to say

I remember my brother having one of those - you connected a cable to a tape player and that's how you loaded your games!! And it made that wierd "fax machine" sound while it was loading! Oh and it was connected to our little black and white TV!

laugh

Oh! And driving the local farmers tractor while the bales were loaded onto it - every time I stepped on the brake (I think I was 12!) I made the tractor kind of jump and knocked a couple of lads off the trailer!

Partiro: Jaysus you were posh with your ZX Spectrum, I think that was late 70s because we had a ZX81 in the 70s and that was the colour machine if I remember correctly , I had a commodore 64 about '88 they were a class machine, who remember video machines that loaded from the top and who can say they saw a film on Betamax?

I didn't have a ZX. My friend did. Te first I ever saw was the Commodore Pet. The monitor, keyboard and cassete deck were all in one unit and it cost as much as a new motorbike. Took 8 to 10 minutes to load a program such as battleships and hangman.Programming was in good old BASIC!

By 87 and 88 we were starting to use business machines such as the Amstrad 1512 and 1640 with a 5 1/4 inch floppy drive and no hard drive and an 8 colour CGA monitor!laugh State of the art. You had to load DOS first and then take the disk out and load your game or word processor called Amstrad Ability!
