sounds a bit like closing the stable door after the horse has bolted to me. I'm not sure there is much point in protesting about a war when America are pulling out their troops soon and the British goverment will probably follow suit. Plus Tony Blair is no longer British Prime Minister and hasn't been in a whiledoh

I agree N....I have always liked Tony Blair although I never agreed with the invasion of Iraq....however, I was a wee bit disappointed in that response today at his book signing...he has done a lot of good things in his time..including being instrumental in helping bring about peace to Irelands troubled North...but of course most people focus on ONLY the negative stuff.....I think a lot of people enjoy basking in negativity.....thats life....anyway I watched and enjoyed his interview on the Late Late Show last night, and thought the response from the audience was good...although maybe they had been handpicked? Probably? Who knows? dunno wave

I thought Ryan did a poor enough job in the interview, especially when talking about the war they just went round in circles for a while like he wasn't even listening to Tony

The people that threw things at him were a disgrace. You can disagree with someone and have a different opinion without doing something like that. And he does seem an ok kind of guy.

Yeah I quite like Ryan but he can push a point too far at times and ends up making himself look silly...which he did at times last night....I got the impression he felt he had to 'nail' Tony Blair for some reason...he didnt manage it though!

I think maybe he let his own feelings on the war get in the way of the interview at times

Yeah Im not saying his decision was right....in fact it was very wrong imo but hindsight is a wonderful thing and its very easy to sit back and judge and criticise him now that all the facts have finally come out...he had a very very difficult decision to make....and in my, possibly niave, opinion I believe he thought he was doing the right thing at the time.

I never really had much of an opinion of him one way or the other to be honest, C. I did think he was a bit of a puppet for Bush at the time though. If Bush did something, Blair wasn't too far behind. I do agree about the North though. I didn't see the Late Late show last night although i have it taped because i heard Blair was going to be on it. I might watch it later.

I agree with Galwayguy though. I think if people feel the need to protest fair enough but the protesters shouldn't have let things get out of hand like that. It reflects badly on the country when people in other countries see people acting that way. I know tensions run high sometimes and tempers flare but violence solves nothing.....JMO.

Very true and he was going on what he thought was relaible information at the time. Saddam Hussein is no loss and he would have gone on butchering his own people and his sons would have done the same so it is one good thing that they are no more.

No, i haven't watched it yet. I taped it though so might watch it later. He does have a habit of being tough on his guests sometimes though, particularly politicians. I'm not a big fan of the show but i watch it occasionally if someone is one that sparks my interest. I enjoyed the interviews with Bertie and Cowen.

Well N after years and years of Maggie and John Major etc...to me Tony Blair was like a breath of fresh air...and I really, really admired him....but he is only human after all and we are all guilty of poor judgement at times...unfortunately his blunder was monumental imo....yeah and I do agree he got in too deep with the awful Bush....all very messy stuff.
Yeah peaceful protests are the way to go....first Axel and now Tony...who next??? laugh

I know Tubridy is a well educated fella but i thought Blair totally out smarted him last night and at times made him look pretty juvenile, he was nearly laughing at his questions going around in circles!!
He was, at times, embarrassing with his "ah go on..admit you were wrong..go on will ye" nonsense!!
Blair handled himself very well....i suppose like all good politicians do...

He was poor all round last night, I noticed he kinda says one word to the guests, expects them to know what he's on about and then elaborates, found it a bit annoying to watch, that and the fact I had no drink last night pee'd me off very mad
