Pick him up, hold him in your arms, talk quietly to him,

change his nappy, feel his forhead and see if he has a temperature, He may be sick

If the worst he can do is cry then you arent doing too bad!! It wont kill him and he'll probably just cry himself to sleep......my youngest used to do that all the time esp if she was overtired......fair play to you for volunteering thumbs up

I have a total phobia of crying babies wow When I was 17 I used to babysit a family - the three older kids were grand but the baby was totally clingy with the Mum and as soon as she left the baby would cry for Ireland .... one night she cried so much that she started going blue in the face .... I had to phone my Mum and get her to come and help me!!! laugh

I had a phobia of crying babies even after i had my son....he literally cried for the first 2 yrs of his life...uh oh i was like a zombie from lack of sleep...he is 10 now and a great kid...(i deserve it)laugh but 2 of my best friends recently had babies and i am so more chilled out now..have taken them overnight...to give them a break....as nervous as i was...but it was fine...as long as you keep calm and chill out...babies can scream and bawl....it will do them no harm and eventually they will wear themselves out...thank god it never came to that when i was babysitting!grin
