lucynad: i don't think a friendship can be get on demand...
and it also belongs to the category where the "it is not the quantity, but the quality that counts" applies...
Oh contraire! Friends can be numerous if one is willing to pay enough...scene on a street corner, somewhere in Europe: middle sged male in rumpled clothes stands holding handfull of Euros and says to passersby, 'Hallo, strange person, I am strange too. If I give you 50 Euros, you be my friend for today and if you like, I pay you something everyday and ve be friends, ya?' Or perhaps you or someone else receive an e-mail from a total stranger,(male or female): 'Hallo,Me likes your profile; me tinks zat yu make nice friend for me. I pay you 20 Euros a day for your company. My name is Durak,(or/Schmetlana Sabaka, is from outer reaches of lower Slobovia in living in cultured und sofistikated wittle village, give to my person zee house numer yu live in and my person comes to you fast so you be my friend, da?' Now, really, who could possibly resist such an incredible, staggering and startling offer of pure platonic bliss? (Perhaps you will need a tonic before you faint! ) One never knows what friends may come into your life...or how! Never underestimate the value of paid friendships! (I'll go and take my' tonic' now, I'm overdue for my dosage...ciao!)
