I have never seen the reason for all the fuss over the ashes or Cricket. Like Football, it is only a game but unlike Football it is so slow that watching a Scot get his wallet out in the pub is quicker.

They're getting a whooping again mate unfortunately. I thought they'd be winning this one, but hey there's a long way to go in the series yet.

Typical bloody Pommies.. no mention of Siddles Hat-trick or Hussey's 195 and Haddins great innings..

Strauss at least has redeemed himself for his incredibly poor form eg third ball duck, which you failed to mention also.

Finn bowled reasonably well for a 6 for! as did Siddle with the aforementioned hattrick and 6 for.

How about some balanced comments! frustrated

It looks to me like a well played draw is on the cards.

Only once and that was adjudged not out by the umpire and therefore not out.. that is why the DRS was introduced.. its just tough if the captains shoot their bolt early! and besides Sunday was not over when I posted .... Derrrr!! It is now and the English have done well. I am on for a draw still.

and in reference to not mentioning the previous days, I quote
Strauss at least has redeemed himself endquote

What do you want me to do? rabbit on about your pommy team, not bloody likely mate.. there are 20 million pommy bast**ds that will do that for you. rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing

thanks for the welcome..handshake uk australia

The bowlers will improve, middle order needs a shake-up, North needs to go, Watson up the order, and a few other changes might give us a better chance in Adelaide.

The pommies have done alright, but typically let the declaration too late to make it a contest. Strauss should grow a pair and declare sooner to make it a game.

Bring on Perth I say, I have tickets!

Not on an almost perfect batting wicket. He did the right thing..why put yourself in with a chance of losing when a draw s certain?

because it is exactly that attitude that is seeing Test cricket being overtaken by T20 and ODI's ... Modern cricket fans would like a result... It has to be a consideration for the Test game to survive, a change in attitude.

Take a risk!! Make it a challenge, it would have been a damn sight better to lose a test fighting than to fizzle out to a boring bloody draw after 4 days of decent cricket.

Good points - I agree.
As an ex Rugby prop (many years ago) I think the way the English team play cricket now, that a load of Brighton Poofs would probably do better rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing

Rugby has always been my favourite sport to play and watch, and IMO, the main reasons why the All Blacks, The Boks, and The Wallabies Union teams are consistantly more entertaining to watch, and win, is becaiuse of their attitude to all phases of the game. - Unlike England, they play their test matches and all games with the will to win and all 15 have, to some extent more than one facet to their abilities instead of concentrating on only one, so they are able to win more ball at the scrum, line outs and cover each other etc in subsequent phases. I must say I was never in favour of end to end kicking though whoever does it especially after we won ball only to see a fly half lose it by an up & under or get hit as he tried to go for touch.

If it was just ONE test, I agre, but it is over 5 tests, so this game was just 20% of the 'game' has been played.

You must have missed the games this month! England payed the game the right way and have taken big inroads to becoming a potential WC winners next year.

I must admit I have not seen the internationals as I have been engaged on business matters - If as you say, they are suddenly moving towards not giving possession away, it has to result in an improvement. handshake cheers uk
