Has anyone ever tried an overseas relationship??If so has it worked for you,how hard was it to bring your partner to the U.S.???Thanks for your advice .David
while it is possible to make a connection with someone exclusively online, it is always a big unknown how compatible you really are until you spend time in person. the longer it is until the meeting, the more time you spend with the online persona, who could not be who you are imagining, even if the photos and personal data are accurate, etc. the distance is a huge hurdle, in my opinion. how do you form a real connection without spending alot of time together? if she moves here, even if you had 'known' her online for awhile, you are basically starting from scratch. its hard, but i wish you luck, i know there are cases where it works out

One way or another, I think you have to spend time with someone and get to know them in person before you can know if you are gonna make it. I have a friend who spent about six months talking to a guy she met online. Then they spent a month together. Then it all fell apart. You just can't know until you spend time together, lots of it, imo.

You really have to be careful when it comes to relationships on line.Make sure you chat on the phone, chat on skype or web cam.Get to know the person on more then just e-mail. For some reason people are not always truthful on line. They may say they don't drink or smoke when they do. There picture may be and old picture, people change as they get older, some still believe they look like they did 10 or 20 years ago, some air brush their photos to make them look better then they do in person. Some say they are average build when their not Things like this never make sense to me if there really trying to meet someone. Are they in a dream world, think we will over look the fact that they lied. That we will be so in love with them that it doesn't matter? The real world just doesn't work that way i am afraid. Last but the most important, you can't tell if there's chemistry or real attraction till you meet in person. Good luck
