International Music (43)

After having been introduced to E Nomine (German Trance?) yesterday on these Canadian forums I started wondering exactly how much International musical greatness I'm missing due to geography.

I am well aware that Canada has some of the greatest musicians to have ever recorded some fantastics bodies of work, many covered in another thread, but I'm a greedy SOB and I'm sure I am not alone in this regard.

If you know any great International Bands/Musicians that aren;t getting radio play here pop em up in here. Maybe some of us Canucks will get our greedy little mittens on some of what we've been missing.

As always, feel free to add your opinions as well, anything else, or just hijack the thread as usual grin

After having my daughter listen to the song "Mitternacht" by E Nomine that you were talking about she said that she likes the group Ramstein. The song that she likes is Du Hast. Have to admit it has a good beat but still have to listen more get more of a opinion on it.

Hm... whenever Rammstein is mentioned, I feel it's my duty to mention KMFDM as well. :) Rammstein is a more commercialized version of KMFDM.. I don't think I've ever seen a KMFDM poster on display at an HMV store before.

KMFDM - Angst, one of the best industrial albums ever.

Theoretically, not that I would condone or endorse any such activities, dishonest people could always just try limewire for any International flavour grin

And here's a recommend for a metal band called Akashic (Brazil). My friend tipped me off here as I don't normally listen to this type of music (power metal?) but I liked this band a lot when he played them the other day.. so if you enjoy the heavier tunes, check em out!
