I posted on an almost identical thread to this a few hours ago dunno laugh

The question of the imminent extintion of the eastern cougar was raised aswell !

I asked about how the florida panther (another cougar subspecies) was getting on....bad news about that too, im afraid blues

It's not really hard to believe that there are no cougars in the eastern part of the US..Think about it, this part of the country was primarily farm land. A long time ago wolves and cougars used to live and roam these lands and livestock were easy pray. Do you think farmers will let an animal just kill the livestock that makes money for them? Hell no. Most farmers don't care about conserving nature; they care about feeding their families. These animals were hunted, trapped and poisened in mass quantities.

A question has been posed about the Western cougars. Given that you reside in California, you could as well be the most qualified to answer cheers
