because i choose to be tonight, i use sleeping tablets called zopiclone which help me sleep, but tonight i just didnt want to go to bed.

well if your mind is over active try some lavender oil on pulse points and on your pillow, or you can by over the counter nytol, they do it in herbal form which is crap, but in its proper form it does make you drowsy as it contains anti histamine.

how long have you been like this??

nitrazepam is a load of crap, and a benzodiazapine and highly addictive.

i just know about this topic ive been there myself

just try some lavender oil, if that doesnt work and the nytol doesnt go back to your doctor and ask for zopiclone, its much better than nitrazepam thats a load of rubbish

Hi folks

I find reading in bed helps me to switch off.

Also, televisions form of sleeping tablets are the shopping channels. If I put one of those on I'll be asleep within 30 minutes. Listening to some vegetable drone on repetitively about the latest miniscule diamond ring - yawn

And finally, I did Yoga a few years ago and learning how to "corpse" is a great way to switch off. Lie on your back and think about your feet, think about relaxing the muscles there and then slowly work up your body - calves, thighs, etc etc.

Quite a few people used to fall asleep in the class after doing that !

wink

Try eating very ice-cream about half an hour before going to bed . It helps because your body needs to warm it up by a few degrees , draining you out of left over energy .. Holding your breath and keeping the head under water for over 15 minutes can induce a very long sleep so much so that one may never wake up again .
