You need to pull out your telescope and take another look. Have you ever actually done that? I remember being a kid and we used our dad's hunting telescope for that .... and for looking at everything else around as well. Yes I have. A good friend also has a really good telescope. Unbelieveable the views are! Ever since I was a kid I have been fascinated by the night sky. Even without a telescope it is amazing just to lay outside and fall "up" into the sky

Missed that!! That would have been something to see. Somewhere on line is a site that has the International Space Stations schedule,...and if there isn't any clouds, you can actually see it track across the sky!! Brighter than Venus! And right on time, as per the schedule! Quite visible even if it is still dusk out! The first time I saw it was by accident,...didn't have any idea as to what it was I was seeing,...I thought it may have been a,...gasp,..UFO,...and was bracing myself for the inevitable alien probing!!
