unouwantme2: at the moment you can play 4 ireland under the rules that if your granny/grandad or great granny were irish you can play 4 them lol also i dont agree with representing one country at youths and another at senior level

You probably dont remember Italia 90 if we didnt have that rule we wouldnt have had much of a team to do as well as we did that year.

godeas69: I don't see a problem with anyone of irish ancestry declaring, after all there is 35 million of them in the states. A plastic paddy is acceptable if it makes the squad stronger. We're not Brazil.

Yeah true but there was a great atmosphere in the country that summer, i was doing the Inter Cert but was more interested in the matcheslaugh

That maybe true but the vast majority of that team were Irish Bonner, Whelan, Quinn, Moran etc

Yeah but like ciaran clarke both his folks are Irish. A lot of my mates have gone to England cause there's no work here I wouldn't think of their kids are not Irish because they had to move. They'd be brought up knowing it.
