facetowardsfront: WTF is it about the West Midlands and heavy metal? I think all the big bands came from that region. I used to love the metal myself as a young lad. What a shock it was to realise how many of them were gay! Not that it makes any difference but I do often wonder how I could watch Rob Halford prance around in bondo gear with whips and handcuffs dripping off him and not cop on!

Judas Priest were my introduction to metal around 12/13.
Adored them. Even now I would stick on electric eye or sentinel....and loved living after midnight. Been humming it to myself since I saw you mention Rob Halford.

I loved them back the same time as you did. They played in Dalymount Park in 1979 with Black Sabbath. A good day that was, Rob riding on stage on his Harley Ferguson. But sure seriously, we didn't even know what gayers were back then.
