The Irish Medicines Board has initiated a recall of all packs of Nurofen Plus from Irish wholesalers. In Britain, Hundreds of thousands of packets of the popular painkiller have been recalled amid sabotage fears, Reckitt Benckiser, the drug's manufacturer, recalled the product last night and halted distribution after discovering five boxes contained other companies' medicines including an anti- psychotic drug. The company has confirmed its believed the drugs had been sabotaged and called in the Metropolitan Police Four boxes were found to contain the anti- psychotic drug Seroquel XL 50mg. And one packet contained Pfizer's Neurontin - an anti-epileptic drug - in 100mg capsules In a statement, the IMB said it had been closely monitoring the discovery, on the UK market, of packs of Nurofen Plus Tablets containing rogue blister strips of either Seroquel XL 50mg Tablets or Neurontin 100mg Capsules.
