just wondering if anyone knows where I could go to find out information about working in the North and living in the Republic.
I have been applying for lots of jobs in Derry as its the closest big town to me (i do apply here as well).
Tried looking online but it's not something that is easy to find info on and would have to get offered a job to find out I am going to run into problems.

some benefits e.g. Jobseeker's Allowance, Carer's Allowance and Incapacity Benefit

If you live in one jurisdiction and work in another you may potentially have income tax liability both where you live and where you work.

Thanks folks
I was chatting to someone who said that if I work in north I would have to claim child allowance in the north but I can't even open a bank account as I don't have an address. So guess I'm worried about me been a lone parent and how working in the North would effect me, I know the rules for here.

The wages in the north are piss poor,, minimun wage is around the £5.80 mark translates at around €6.80 not worth getting out of bed for that...it would be better if you lived in the north and worked south of the border so you could take advantage of the better pay...I know many people who live in the South Armagh region that work in Dundalk ireland
