paws4: Christmas always reminds me of being in love, especially when spent alone. I stopped looking several years ago for reasons that seem reasonable to me; my age, the energy required for the search, the emotional investment needed if I did find someone (fear of being hurt) etc. Mostly I feel quite content with my life, then I get that lonely feeling now and then....you know what I mean, it's why most of us are on this site, even though my profile says just a casual friendship. Who am I trying to fool ?

Hi Ken. I didn't know. seems we do end up back here....I think 5 years for me as well...But I am at a point that I will just be happy when and if that person does appear in my world,,or maybe I am blind...meanwhile, still have to eat and sleep...and in my case cut more hair..lol.

Maybe you need to step back a while and figure out what you really want. As for Christmas or any other holiday; you should spend time with friends and family; it sure works for me. The other thing is you could volunteer with your local community to help out those less fortunate as it too is a great way to take your mind off your loneliness and who knows you could even meet someone. Whatever you decide; I wish you luck in finding your happiness.
