This round of solar activity is not yet over -- a new and even more powerful solar flare occurred yesterday that might provide more amazing aurora as soon as tonight.

Urbuddy: Brave girl you , they just didn't appreciate your good looks or nature's free exhibition

Well Urbuddy, dont know about the looks but I certainly appreciated it. It was beautifull beyond words and although it was 200 miles above my head it looked like it was just hanging above the pub like you could almost reach up and touch it.

The errie thing was how silent it was, ghostly almost. You'd almost expect some hissing or crackling sound but it was just a silent visitor for about half an hour that dispersed as silently as it came.

What really annoyed me was that two fools who had spent the night night and possibly the day drinking were there to almost mess it up for me, and who more than likely after hammering each other for a bit probably shared the same taxi home.

In any event, I remember it well and hope to see it again.

comfort thumbs up

GREEN SKIES FOR ST. PATRICK'S DAY?
NOAA forecasters estimate a 20% chance of geomagnetic storms around the poles on March 17th in response to a high-speed solar wind stream buffeting Earth's magnetic field. Northern Lights could descend all the way down to Ireland, concluding St. Patrick's Day with a flourish of heavenly green.
