To eliminate scammers I have one way of doing that. The most important one is to only talk over Skype webcam. It's as simple as that. Anyone that asks to email to an yahoo personal address when making first contact you ignore. Thirdly, never talk via IM, only via Skype webcam. If someone, on first contact calls you sweetie or darling and the English is so bad it's pathetic, don't reply as it is a sure thing you are dealing with a scammer. Report them please.
i am new to this online thing, i have not had any luck so far, i dont think there are many woman my age from NZ on this site. but will persevere for the time being. good luck to all of you. :-)
I have met several nice women on this site. I have some long distance friends that I have been able to share cultures with, but dating seems far fetched. I have met locals that are genuine and I have and still date some of them. On the other hand, this site is riddled with scammers, so beware of anyone that is too good to be true.

I have to disagree with the nasty way that you criticized the people who speak bad English, because of English is not so good there is no reason to call guy a scammer

Back and just reading your comments. I'm sorry that you were "used". I also want to say how perfectly right you are about our gut. And, befor meeting one should definitely think with the head first.
I think that a lot of people, other then the scammers, on dating sites are lonely divorced, widowed people who find it difficult to meet their match withing the geopgraphical area where they stay. This is very true in my particular case.
But, I shall keep on dreaming and the universe will have the ultimate answer. Songbirds

Sorry if I pulled your string. In fact, YOUR English is very good indeed. Furthermore, my common sense would tell me that, if I am dealing with a person who is not of an English speaking country, I would certainly make allowances. So I stand by my comment but will rephrase it. If a guy of an English speaking upbringing contacts me in very bad usage of the language it will be a scammer. I know, it' happened on more then one occasion and I was right in both instances.
