stepiladi: I am wanting to go stay in Ireland for about 3 weeks... I am looking into self catering and not renting a car, just taking bikes to the shops and immersing myself in the culture for a few weeks.. what would be the best place to stay? I have found a couple of really affordable places in Cork and Galway... what do you suggest?

Do a trip of the coast, it is lovely.. Visit Connemara and stay in Renvyle House Hotel, tranquility personified.
