to a gentleman from this site who was kind enough to send me a batch of home-grown peppers!!!

serranos, jalapenos, and a great bunch of the prettiest habaneros...

i'm in awe at his generosity, and i thought i'd say thanks.

How cool is that! I had a ton of green peppers this year and made Green Pepper Jelly. It turned out great. You should try.

i'm gonna make a big batch of chili this weekend...

i'll research a recipe for habanero jelly. that's a great idea.

oh, yes...habaneros rate about a hundred times hotter than a jalapeno.

What's the secret to handling them?

I used capsaisin(sp?) few years back, and it burned the hell out of my skin. Had to remove it with vegetable oil..
What's the difference?

secret?

wear gloves. and be very careful to not get them on any mucous membrane.

they'll burn skin, for sure...one habanero, and i can make a kickin' hot chili...
