purr4mance: interesting.

Have you signed up yet?

It is interesting, indeed Purr.

As for people thinking that they will never be able to get out of Mars (in case everything goes well grin ) well, we are never going to get out of planet Earth anyway.

Me had signed up? No, I do not think so. Besides I do not meet the requirements and it will take 10 yr to get Planet Mars from planet Earth!

uh oh

I will wait until the voyage is shorter.

laugh

Ccincy: I like to travel but if I couldn't come back to earth when I chose to it wouldn't work for me.

You can not get out of planet Earth either CC

weellll....i'm 0/5 on the requirements

1. a deep sense of purpose...mine is more a deep sense of confusion
2. if i was building and maintaining healthy relationships, don't think i'd be leaving them all behind to go into space
3. self-reflection...my mirror needs cleaning, can't see a thing...
4. trust...yah..lol...workin' on that one...
5. adaptable
(Able to adjust to new conditions.)
(Able to be modified for a new use or purpose.)
lol..i had to look up the meaning...but i knew what rigid
meant...

so i guess i'm stayin' here...

Hello Jono
The first requirement that I did notice was:
Being able to maintain healthy relationships.

laugh

I wonder if anyone in CS covers that requirement!

That could be a problem Sterling but
...."They must be resilient, adaptable, curious, creative and resourceful."

I wonder how a space traveler could make his own booze in a 10 yr voyage and after that (in case marsing is right).

lifeisadream: " Want to be a space pioneer?

Not much tying you to planet Earth?

Apply today and blast off for Mars!

Yes, you really could be one of the first humans to set foot on the Red Planet, as Mars One is genuinely looking for new astronauts, and anyone anywhere can apply.

The non-profit Netherlands-based Mars One is seeking a legion of applicants; anyone who fits the pretty basic requirements is wanted.

The idea is that it'll begin the selection process in the first half of this year, with contestants potential astronauts whittled down into at least six teams of four, through a combination of votes from ‘a global televised programme' and a team of experts. Big Brother with a purpose, then, basically. Entrants will need:

"A deep sense of purpose , willingness to build and maintain healthy relationships , the capacity for self-reflection and ability to trust . They must be resilient, adaptable, curious, creative and resourceful. "

Of course, this is a one-way trip, so you'll also need either a deep loathing of Earth, or have nothing to live for here........"
Hm i accept under the following conditions: to be paid my salaries here on earth for lets say 20 years and the rest of the crew be beautiful women and 1 eunich. If they accept i will be the personality they seek , loath earth and be ready to embark on 15th March 2033cheers
