I don't really hold with expectations (certainly not pre-determined ones). I would expect respect as that is what I try to give to others but otherwise I leave people to their own devises. If you give them that freedom and independence of thought and they (voluntarily) deliver in regards to what's akin to your code of conduct and your standards (as friend/family member/partner/colleague, etc) then fine. If not, they have failed and you need to make a decision as to whether they continue to be in your life...... or not.
As the saying goes.... 'give them enough rope and they hang themselves'.
I don't believe in dictating to someone else. I give them free rein as a adult human being capable of making their own decisions. If they let me down.....

So my expectation of someone or other's is that they be genuine. Some may choose loyalty, dependable, etc.
