Whenever you buy any electrical device, it comes with a plug that has a plastic three pronged cover on the pins.

Bearing in mind that no one has been killed or seriously injured holding a naked plug, is this cover the most useless thing yet discovered?

Do you know for a fact that nobody has been killed ?
If *you* are so sure of your opinion and make such a bold assumption that they are useless, you should contact MK Electric and ask them why 3 pin plastic SAFETY covers are fitted to all plugs on new appliances.

Whatever the reason, the first thing you ever do is take them off and throw them away. They serve no useful purpose.

I suspect that you are more likely to be injured after they have been thrown away and you put the plug into the socket......if the socket or wiring is faulty......??

Do you work for MK?

Packaging its called I believe!
It would not be possible to plug the
item in with this cover on it unless
you have an extra large socket! doh

Hi Redex good to see you! Good point.

Anyhow this society is a throw away one
and packaging is one of the major offenders!
At least cardboard will decay in no time at
all while plastic takes on average 200yrs to
do so.

Recently I had a new cam for pc delivered and
it came in a large box, packaging was air filled
plastic bags, and then the box with the cam in it.
The cam measures approx 4 x 3" that's inches. I do
wonder if this is all necessary!

I suggest a chocolate teapot is pretty useless!!
