I used to watch that as a kid. Then moved to Canada and a few yearslater, watched "All In The Family". An American show based on Steptoe.

Not familiar with that show, but it surely would have been "based" on Steptoe, and not Steptoe himself.
He couldn't have lasted much longer after the original Steptoe series. He looked like the walking dead on that show.
