I'm not too bad on computers but no knowledge of Xbox atall.

If she googles the error code they usually have suggestions, or go back to the place she bought it

Ya thanks..just thought maybe someone has encountered same 
if it was used to play copied games it might have been blocked all together.

support during office hours for xbox (dublin number) think this is the number and dept I went with my xbox problem last year spoke to a lovely tech guy who had me done n dusted in no time.
Hope they get it sorted.
