I am going to do something I have wanted to do my whole life... I just finished school and got my CDL and I am going over the road... I am going to see as much of the US as I can... I am so excited... I have been in AZ far too long! Wish me luck!
Best of luck to you Rox. I spent over 30 yers in one of those damn things. Been all over the country, have seen very little, but then mine was with a union company and we didn't sit in truck stops waiting. Nice pension though..
Fortunately mom is still alive, when she is gone, it will be 5th wheel time for me and a chance to really see things. Just throw the mutts in and go.
Good for you Rox. I drove for over 3 years, and I absolutely loved it. I miss the road, but I'll get back out there one of these days. Don't let some of those drivers get to you. There's still a few out there that think that women don't belong driving tractor trailers...Ignore them. Good luck and have fun out there.
Been doing it for 18 years and just over 2 million miles. I don't guess I've ever found anything quite as rewarding - or quite as frustrating - as driving over the road. Most of my time has been spent as a flatbedder specializing in oversized loads, but I've also toted mobile homes, run dry van and reefer, cussed a milk tanker into submission and pulled specialty trailers as well as hauling more damn cows than I care to remember.
Keep your eyes on the road, a good attitude about you and don't forget to learn something new every single day and you will do fine!
i am truly happy for you because it is every womens and mans dream to travel and see the world as much as they can at least i would no matter what anyone says
