Well watching the news becomes more unplesant day by day. And no one, even formal goverments care about human rights. What do you think can be done to protect and preserve human rights and human dignity?

No i have not seen it personally, For a country that prides itself on human rights,, Your first post would be irrelavant to the people held in GB, Why is this?? Whatever happened to basic human rights here, Guantanamo Bay out of sight out of mindwine

So you really don`t know anything. We hear a lot of false and misleading stories from the press. Associated Press was recently caught putting out lies. Can`t beleive everything you read or hear.

Although I realize there are probably some misstreatment of prisioners at GB. Sometimes it may be necessary to interrogate someone with lets say, more pressure to protect the innocent.
I am not saying we should torture anyone, but there are ways to extract information without inflicting too much disconfort.

Mitchell, That is my point we have ways of making you talk, This would vary from person to person, Where do they draw the line at Guantanamo? Of course i see your point sometimes you will need to interrogate someone with pressure to protect the innocent, There is a fine line and the detainees at GB must be in constant fear, We all know they are held on this us base in East Cuba for one reason, It does not fall under us law for some reason, Therefore human rights are out of the windowwine

Yes it is a fine line. But those held in GB are there for a reason. They are terrorist, and supporters of Al Qeida. I have read where some who were released showed up again in Iraq to fught again.

If there are major human rights violations down there it will come to a head. If not it will fade away. I`m sure the press would never allow anyony to get away with that behavior. Especially if they thought it was a republican involved.
