Every year I find it lessens a bit, but I have always had some degree of depression at this time of year. Nothing to do with being single, just thoughts about family issues, deaths of friends, etc. Having my daughter in my life helps big time. Just wondering if anyone else gets down at Christmas when we are all supposed to be so full of holiday cheer?

I went to bed before I could read all the posts. I'm so sorry about your daughter, I can't even imagine going through what you are.comfort

I resolve now to not feel sorry for myself and try to keep things as stress free as possible this Christmas (even around my family).

Hi Jet,

Like you, I will really be glad when Christmas is over. This will be my first Christmas completely on my own. I have extended a couple of invitations, however, no takers. Other people have other plans.

Lorraine.

Hi Kelly,

Thank you very much. However, I know how the weather can change and I am scared of the driving conditions. My loss. You are a nice, kind lady to extend your invitation.

Sincerely,

Lorraine.

Sorry to hear that, Lorraine. comfort I hope you will do something nice for yourself then, rent some good movies, or have a nice bottle of wine. I am grateful that I have my daughter with, and my parents to visit. I will just be glad when the stressful parts (shopping, baking, worrying about money, etc) are over, and when I finish my shift at work on Christmas eve, I will have 3 days off, then I can actually relax and enjoy the holiday.
