I have also watched my daughter defy unbeatable odds. I have seen the smiles that she has brought to many peoples faces. My family has grown into one with many amazing people who work tirelessly into the days and nights to save a child. I have seen medical and nursing students come in and thank me and Sarah for all that she has taught them. I have seen an entire community come in to the hospital to celebrate one little girls first birthday not only because it was her birthday but because she made it, we also celebrated her survival. I have been taught lessons of life that “normal people” would only be so lucky to learn. I have seen miracles and angels. Sure I have cried tears of sorrow and grief but I also cried tears of joy and happiness.

At my daughters funeral there were over 300 people there. 11 of them were immediate family. 300 people that were inspired by one little girl “who had no chance” She taught us all the true meaning of life and love, determination spirit and courage. When someone asks me who my hero is the answer is always the same…Sarah.

So when people hear my story of Sarah they always ask was it worthwhile and would you do it all over again I always answer, “In a heartbeat.”

And in a heartbeat I say you are the best mother Sarah would have ever hoped for.

I am glad that she was part of your life and that you are carrying her "ray of life" for everyone else here that stayed behind so that her love can still shine. You have reminded me this morning how life is precious and I thank you for it.

In Memory of Sarah....
angel

God saw you getting tired,

A cure was not to be.

So he put his hands around you,

And whispered,"come to me".

With tearful eyes we watch you

And saw you fade away.

Although we loved you dearly,

We could not make you stay.

Many times we'll think of you,

Many times we'll cry.

You never would have died.

A golden heart stoped beating,

Your tender hads at rest.

God took you home to prove to us,

He only takes the best......
