There are so many organizations asking for donations. A person cannot give to all of them. What do you think is the best purpose to give to. I have decided already, I just want to see others thoughts on this.

THE RONALD McDONALD HOUSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When my son was born about 3 months premature, he was in intensive care for about 3 months at the Mayo clinic. I didn't know what to do! I was so far from home,(6 hours), and I didn't have money or a car,(I was air-ambulenced down there). I wanted to be there 24/7 to be with him though everything. Thanks to the local RMH I was able to stay close to the hospital.

A hotel room for a 3 month stay would have bankrupted me. RMH only asks $10/day donation. If you can't afford it, its ok. I made alot of friends there. Mostly other worried parents. They gave me a home when I needed one. They helped me get free taxi rides to the hospital, have a room/shower, laundry machines, and food. Many volunteers bring over supper & cookies & treats.

I still write to other parents I met at RMH, and do what I can to bring my local RMH supplies, like shampoo, toilet paper, laundry soap.

I must say this charity has a special place in my heart. I would also like to encourage others to drop off donations. Or atleast save pop-tops and drop them off at McDonald's!!!!thumbs up

I think we have to pick something that is important to you and help there with what you can.

My mom had cancer so those agency that focus on the prevention of cancer are important to me

There are so many to choose from.

Considering heart disease runs in my family, I'd choose the American Heart Association.
