Men... here's a scenerio for you. Going on that first date. You show up at her door, but she says she's not ready. How long should you wait for her to get ready before deciding she's too "high maintenance" for you?devil

...if that's all it took for a man to decide if I was too high maintenance...I'd tell him to keep waiting wink rolling on the floor laughing

I think it is just good manners to be ready when someone is coming to pick you up. I myself wouldn't mind waiting a couple of minutes.. but my time is just as valuable at yours. I wouldn't consider it "high Maintenance" but rather bad manners to keep someone waiting.

I agree Christine.

I'm always ready wayyyyyy before I'm supposed to if someone is coming to pick me up- ya just never know when someone might be ahead of schedule. At the same time I would add though that if I am late, there's a damned good reason. I nearly missed a date because my mom broke her foot- I've had babysitter issues, work held me up, boats passing through the canal etc... sometimes you have to be understanding- people do have lives!

Ok heres a guys view on it, I think if a girl wasn't ready and i had to wait, I would wait. If i am there in the first place that would mean i was interested in them, and I knew them well enough to know if they were high maintanence or not. How she conducted herself on the date and in future would be a better sign than the amount of wait time, who knows, maybe your just so important to them they are just having a hard time, getting everything absolutely perfect. So give them as much time as they need, cause the result is all for you.

That's a start... I think we should wait... not out of desparation thoughlaugh . There's a reason I specified first date.. If you thought she was worth going out with, waiting can help build the anticipation. Not that I'm expecting anything from a first date other than having fun and finding out if there is compatability.wink

I think if you were really expecting nothing other than 'having fun and finding out if there is compatability' you wouldn't have had to say that...

I would wait if he was worth waiting for! If we were going to be late for some concert or theatre, then that's a different story, because I wouldn't be happy about that.

I would definitely wait as long as it took for her to get ready... not just because i'm a gentleman but it's called being patient which is a virtue that you should have developed in you're life already...i dont care if she was high maintenance or low maintenance it would mean i finally got a date after all these months.
