while i was away for christmas...my family were discussing the amount of left-handed people we have. two of my children are left-handed, as well as bunches of cousins, aunts, etcetera.
my mother fondly looked at me and said that the girls got it from me...that "i" was left-handed. i told her that i always thought that i SHOULD have been...(i'm ambidextrous)...and my aunt and mom went on to explain that no, i wasn't left-handed, but neither was i right-handed.
apparently, when i went into kindergarten, i couldn't make up my mind. i wrote with both hands, and went the whole year that way. when i hit first grade, however...they forced me to make a decision. my teacher was right-handed, as well as all the students in my class...so of course, that's what i went with. easier on the teacher, yes?
PART TWO:
has anyone ever had an adult or someone in authority, etcetera...push you to make a decision that went against who you were? how did you handle it?
oh, hell yeah. I always wanted to do things my way, in my own time. And I handled it by doing things my way and in my own time. Did it then, do it now.

If the intentions are harmful I would make a decision. based on the lessons I was learning and my personal view of right and wrong I would learn the lessons being taught while at the same time adjusting the lessons learned to compliment my own beliefs.
This way I wouldn't be controlled by someone else because I would be making the neccesary adjustments while learning.
