spikkels999: We all perceive our thoughts to be just ours...
As soon as you are exposed to other thoughts, it either stays or evolves...
How firm are your thoughts...?
There are two lines of thought on this matter. A good Rabbi did a very nice lecture on this. There are studies that have proven that people tend to fall into one of two categories. The first, more common one, is to be more socially acceptable. People in this category are much more flexible on what they "believe." The study took groups and applied social pressure to get them to give "wrong answers." The "social" people, would learn to bend and would offer the wrong answer, just to be "socially acceptable." However, the second type did not budge, and would always give the correct answer to the best of their ability.

What is the difference between these two groups? As a general rule, people engaged in science, math, etc, any kind of science, would not budge, whereas all/most others would tend to "go with the flow." I'm one of those that tends towards science, and don't budge on most things. I was a Technician and Engineer, for too many years. I still do software, etc.

I never did ask the Rabbi for the details of the study. The results seemed accurate enough.
