It's a good alternative to the oldschool tearing of the gown.

People used to grab for her flowers or even bits of her clothes, so the bride started to just throw the flowers to stop her clothes from being torn off her.....some things are better left alone!devil

Yea, read on traditions and that's what....tradition of the bridal toss has its roots in England. It was believed that the bride could pass along good fortune to others. In order to obtain this fortune, spectators would try to tear away pieces of the bride's clothing and flowers. In an attempt to get away, the bride would toss her bouquet into the crowd. Tradition says that the single women who catches the bouquet is the one who receives the bride's fortune and will marry next.

rightgrin mostly. in ancient Europe, having a piece of the bride's wedding gown was suppose to bring good luck..But the brides didn't appreciate that idea much..........so they formed the bouquet although back then they were made up of smelly herbs thymes and garlic, which people thought would ward of evil spirits as well.
