If you were here now, you would hear the howling wind against the lighthouse .. the huge breaking waves against the pier and in the distance is Wales ... all lit up and pointed to, by the Severn Bridge.
I live in rural suburbia, near small towns. 2 1/2 hours to NYC, 1 hour to PHL, 2 hours from beach. Fairly convenient. Interested in moving to home in a nearly small town.
Its nearly 2am, and the tide is at its highest. Im in my bathroom (dont ask, its a long story) and I can see the container ships passing along the river heading out to sea ... heading to Germany or Scandinavia
With their wake, it generates another round of waves that slap against the pier and spill over the sea-defences ...
in the distance the suspension bridge is lit up in blue, with the twinkling of the amber street lights in the distance.
As the ship passes it allows the navigation buoys to rock in the wake and the red and green lights sway ...
Curious. There are tales of the winds at lighthouses... And, it takes a tough person to live and deal with it...
Is that true? I would think it'd be good background distraction noise...for me anyway. Will admit I've never heard those winds, though. I have hear tornado, and hurricane winds..
Rural - live five miles outside of town in a group of other houses. High mountain views all the way around. I am 10 minutes from downtown Hamilton, 1/2 hour from Lake Como and five minutes to the Bitterroot River. From my house I am within walking distance bike trails, hiking trails, etc. Two rifle ranges 5 miles away, one right by the airport. Beautiful place to live and raise kids.
