Hi One & All. Happy Week-end. I'm not asking for a debate on this nor do i expect it to go on, go on, go on, go on! But i think i've made a error! Hey we're only human, i think.

I've had some correspondance with a couple of ladies via this site & in the process of replying (well after a few messages, not the first) have given my e-mail. scold Simply because you're not limited to the ammount of words & also because you can include pics. Whoops. Guess what no replies from those who i sent it to!

Can i presume this is because the site recommends not using personal e-mails? If so fair enough my fault as i didn't read the bit about scams!roll eyes But how long are we meant to go on before exchanging e-mail addresses? Me personally i don't have a problem with it, i just delete the rubbish. And do you think if this is the case that maybe these ladies could have at least mailed me back via this site to say, rather then leave me thinking i've offended them? Bit cold really. Or worse still, been reported to the site management team as possible scammimg?

Hi Monobear wave

Maybe you can send those you have contacted a message, explaining your reasons for sending your direct e-mail addy.

I must admit, I am quite put off by people wanting direct contact too soon. I don't honestly think there is a specific time span when to exchange details. I only have direct contact with one member on this site and that happened after a couple of months. I suppose it depends on how much contact you have had via the site. Its an individual choice I suppose dunno

Good luck anyway. Hope it all works out for you wine

I personaly don't respond to any one who gives out their personal Addy address straight away. As a lot of scammers work that way. I have a suspicious mind but it tends to keep me safe.

I dont see the problem with given out ur addy its not like they can get all ur details from there , unless they r stupid enough to give all their details to u! Then that is their problem if anything happens!
i dont have a problem with it!

That's the other side to the argument. These days, we have to be vigilant, but let's face the facts, email addresses are free, unless you own your own customised one. I'd happily give my email address out, as I tend to change them often enough anyway. As for my mobile number, I'd only give it to someone that I knew? Everyone else would have to buy my mobile number off of me, as it's a priviledge?? lol (But again, you can get Sim Cards for free anyway). As for my address, I'd only give that out to someone that I could trust implicitly. I do think that some people are over the top regarding security at times, but each to their own.
