It is a very sweeping statement and Im not sure that it is entirely correct.
Europeans do tend to get dragged into things as often as the US dictates.
But as the US does have the biggest toys, it will want to play with them.
in the 1800s the British Empire had its little role at ruling the world. No one messed with them as they had the biggest toys.
Now its the States, soon it will be China's turn.
